September 2017 Photo Hunt

I am once again joining in with Hawthorn Spellweaver (click here to visit her blog and see links to other people who are taking part).

It has been a hard and long month for us so this will be a brief post!  Apologies for its brevity and lack of Boris photos!

1   Shut

Beloved's aged aunt's garage door is shut; lock would not work.  Top photo!
Beloved had to gain access through the garage roof.  Bottom photo!
Don't ask why!!!!!

2   Copper

Beloved's huge reel of copper wire; about 30 cm plus tall!

3  Wrist

Not very imaginative; a biker at a tea shop agreed to pose for me.  Beloved just shook his head.

4   Quarter

I quilt therefore it's fat quarter time at a recent show.

5   Starts with C .......

Canards coming to beg for their breakfast.
(Canard is French for duck!)

6   Foam

The river in flood near our home; lots of foam.

7  Scarf

Crocodile stitch scarf (neck warmer) I crocheted recently.  Larry happy to model if for me.

8  Line

Lovely coloured lines (ducting) at the aforementioned quilt show.

9   Nostalgic

I like to do jigsaw puzzles.  I remember travelling on steam trains
as a young girl.  I still like steam trains!
Top photo shows the picture on the box.
Bottom photo shows the completed puzzle.

10  Own choice

Seen at the same quilt show.  There were so many other pictures I could have used but
this was different.  It was about 20" wide so not very big.

Well that's my offerings for this month.

Now I must go and look at everyone else's photos.  Don't forget you can click here to see other people joining in with Hawthorn this month.

  1. Wonderful selection as always :) I can just see M clambering in and out through the roof (tell him that gives him good credentials should he ever wish to apply for the job of Santa!) Beautiful lion quilt, definitely something different. Thank you for joining in, I know you are exceptionally busy at the moment x

    1. I just could not let you down. In the end it was quick to put together but I must learn not to leave it to close to the reveal date!

  2. Lovely selection as usual. That must have been quite a difficult jigsaw puzzle to do. Did you have to explain to the biker why you fancied his wrist!! I too had to ask permission to take a wrist photo! As for your scarf entry.....'As Happy as Larry' fits that picture perfectly! xx

    1. The jigsaw was surprisingly easy to do, once I got my 'eye in'. I did try to explain to the biker but I'm not sure he was interested!

  3. Great M, seeing you didn't have much time. Us quilters know all about fat quarters, don't we. The last pic is amazing. Take care.

  4. I love your scarf, never heard of crocodile stitch but it looks complicated! The lion quilt is totally amazing. Well done Beloved for climbing into the garage....was the air blue?

    1. Crocodile stitch is easy; if you can do an English treble and chain stitch, you can do this stitch. Click on this link

to see how to do it.

  6. I didn't know Canards was french for ducks so great interpretation. Fat Quarter is a great one too. Your nostalgia was a recent trip for me, a week ago I rode on the Ratty, a miniture steam train in the Lake District. Was great fun.x

  7. The biker's wrist phot is very cool! Leather, machinery, a vintage looking watch. I'd be far too shy to ask for a photo so well done you!

    1. Our neighbour is a biker but he'd not been around recently so my plan to ask him t pose went out of the window so I just had to use my initiative!

    1. No idea where my idea for C came from, it just popped into my brain one day. I had so many options for lines too but am glad you liked my choice.

  10. Lovely set of photos, I like the Crocodile stitch scarf, a crochet stitch I find hard to do, and the lamb is so cute.

    1. Thanks for your comment; yes the crocodile stitch can be fiddly but otherwise I find it easy! My lamb often helps with modelling; very obliging creature!
