Now this was an easy word to find photos for!
Tiffin, purchased from Seasons Bakery, Ingleton, on our way to
Ribblehead; can't wait until we are allowed to drive there.
Also looking forward to be able to go out for a hot chocolate
with marshmallows etc etc! Of course with a piece of cake
too (Hawes Creamery 2014).
Luckily I can bake; I've been baking/cooking all my life. So here are a few delicious bakes I recently made. Recipes are located on the separate Recipes page, at the top left just below the as shown below.
Booths Gin Tea Loaf; easy-peasy to make and so light and fluffy.
Freezes well.
Maple syrup flapjack - a new recipe for me and I'd make it again.
Freezes well.
Cheesy oaty slice. Freezes well.
Finally fresh salmon steaks on a bed of seasonal vegetables
with puy lentils and a small amount of vegetable stock.
Now I'm not the only one who thinks food is delicious.
The other day whilst out walking we watched this seagull
with apologies for the non-steadiness of it as it was very windy!
We did see it peck at something tasty.... glad I'm not a seagull!
Off back to Hawthorn's blog (click here) to see how you have interpreted Delicious!
Bye!
MY mum was a baker and confectioner by trade and taught me everything she knew but I very rarely make anything these days. Your fresh salmon looks lovely but the slice of Hawes Creamery cake looks right up my street :)
ReplyDeleteI think I have to agree with you that the Hawes cake is the best.... I seem to recall it was a cream cheese one. One day we might go back there!
DeleteAll look nice & I also do our own baking, but do enjoy a cuppa out & shared piece of slice or cake from time to time. Funny how birds have popped up on a couple of hunts. Take care and hugs.
ReplyDeleteAs a rule I do prefer home baking but sometimes a cake from elsewhere is what I need!
DeleteIt’s looking very positive for our break in Hawes in May and a trip to The Creamery will definitely be on the cards ... even if just for takeaway 😃
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for your trip to Hawes. It is a very popular place for visitors. Hope you get a delicious cake from the Creamery!
DeleteTook Eldest for cake and a brew at the Creamery in Hawes a few years ago. Cake delicious but we could not wait to get out. The acoustics in the building are not good and there was a very noisy family talking and laughing so loud it spoilt the atmosphere. Your cakes all look delicious. I have some maple syrup that needs using up, maybe I'll give that flapjack a try. xx
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about bad acoustics. One reason I dislike crowds as they are so noisy! Good luck with the maple syrup flapjacks. x
DeleteWe have bought giant custard slices and curry pies from that particular bakery in Ingleton - happy memories from when we were allowed to go 'somewhere' out walking!
ReplyDeletePerhaps in June we'll be able to visit that bakery..... I think I'll be buying tiffin again! x
DeleteMore goodies, I think I might have to make the tea loaf for my Dad!
ReplyDeleteI do suggest you try the tea loaf; easy to make, tasty and not dry!
DeleteThe tiffin looks yummy
ReplyDeleteJulie xxxxx
It is so yummy; in fact I generally eat only half and save the other half for coffee the next day!
DeleteThat gin tea loaf looks gorgeous - and the sound of the salmon recipe is really nice. I'm one of those odd people who don't like chocolate cakes but the thing I'm most looking forward to is meeting a friend in a cafe for a slice of cake with a nice cup of coffee . sigh ..
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who likes chocolate but not chocolate cakes... I also know a few people who don't like cream... mind you I don't like custard! All my recipes are easy to make as I like 'simples' these days.
