11 June 2021 Photo Hunt - Berry

Looks like it's Friday again!  Now berry was an easy word.

A few years ago I stumbled across a recipe for raspberry gin.... wow it is good.

The raspberries have been soaking for about 3 weeks

with gin and sugar and now it's time to filter off

the liquor.

 

Easy to filter.

Just look at this wonderful colour.

And the left over raspberries?

Eaten gradually with some yoghurt

after my lunch.

I have a few raspberries canes here and this is part of what

I harvested last year.  Into the freezer they went until

I had enough to make another batch of raspberry gin.

At our previous house I had a large raspberry patch and

would make jam, wonderful jam, all fruit and just

enough sugar so that it tastes tangy.

I picked this monster strawberry the other

year.  It weighed 37 g.  The strawberry is

not botanically a berry but I just had to

include it!  I eat the strawberries and do

not make jam.

What on earth?  A plastic milk carton, the top

cut off to make the opening larger and a 

string look through the handle and placed

around the wearer's neck.  Why??

To leave both hands free when blackberry

picking! We have blackberries at our

fields but we also gather them from

suitable places along various roads.

A whooper!

4 June 2021 Photo Hunt - Glass

Well, once again it's Friday; this week's word was easy for me.  I originally could only think of one glass-themed photo and then as I looked around I saw lots of potential photos.  So I've included a few more than the original one!

I treated myself to this curved, fused glass piece on a 

visit to Yarndale, possibly 2019.

A gift from a friend, a mobile of fish, hanging in

the bathroom window.

Another gift!  Lucky me.

I couldn't resist this; I bought from our local craft

fair in November 2019.

Another gift from my fish friend!  A

string of glass elephants.

Finally, I just had to include my greenhouse.  I just love 

playing in it, be it boiling hot or not so hot.  A wonderful

space and I've room to move about in it.  My old

greenhouse was about 6' square....

28 May Photo Hunt - Music

And it's Friday again.  Once more I'm joining in with Astrid; click here to see what others have posted.

It's going to be a short post from me this week.  I don;t play a musical instrument nor sing!  When we moved here (just over 6 years ago) we brought the stereo equipment with us but it's never been unpacked.  I rarely listen to music as I can't concentrate on what else I might be doing.  I hate being out in the garden and have to listen to other people's music wafting around.  Even my DVD/CD player on my PC is not working at the moment so even if I wanted music on, I can't but I don't miss it.

So I struggled a bit with this one and then an image of my latest Project Linus quilt came to mind.
