July 2020 Photo Hunt

Oops, I nearly missed the deadline for today, despite making a start at the beginning of July...

So here's my offerings.

1   Something purple

Purple is one of my favourite colours so it was difficult for me to
select just one item.  Top is a crochet blanket with purple
as the predominant colour (trust me it is purple!) and
below Beloved holds up a purple quilt I made recently
with fleece backing.

2   Something green

A wall hanging I made in December 2020, using green fabrics.

I still have a lot of green fabrics to use....

3   Starts with F

Spotted Flycatchers nesting at the front of our garage where we used to live, June 2005.

4   Still life

One of the crochet blanket projects I am currently working on.  The yarn balls keep still
until one is selected!

How it's starting to look; it is the Dahlia blanket from Attic24.

5   Snapped at this moment

August 2005 I snapped this as Beloved was working in our fields.
It was awarded first prize in our local show in August 2006
under the heading Life on the Farm; I did not tell Beloved I'd entered it
into the show so he was a bit shocked when he saw in at the show....

6   Own choice

Beloved hammered this cog into the ground for me the other day;
this was today's visitor.  Male Bullfinch, wonderful.

Hopefully you can see some seed I've scattered
in the top groove.  Better a life in my garden
than ending up in the scrap man's wagon!

Well, time to check out what you have all selected; I know I'll be in for a treat!  As usual thanks Hawthorn.

Bye!

June Photo Hunt 2020

Hello everyone.  This will be short and to the point!  Been so busy of late that I nearly had to give this a miss but I've gone up a gear so here are my photos!

1   Mr garden

Just a tiny view showing a bit of the woodland area and the water
that flows through it.  It was all weeds when we moved here
5 years ago...

2   Flowers

Nectaroscordum siculum - bees love it.

3  Insects

A bee fly - click here to read about it.

4  Sunset/sunrise

5  Something wild

Taken last week in my garden; adult male on the right and juveniles left and centre.

6  Own choice

Had to wait 2 years since we last had ducklings at our kitchen door.  Mother duck
regularly comes for wheat.

Phew, made it.  Bye!

May 2020 Photo Hunt

Another month has slipped by, thankfully mostly sunny weather apart from a few days with high winds.

1   Triangle

I had so many triangular choices but I managed to limit it to two!

Occasionally I do make Christmas cards....

2   Circle

Once again I had so many choices as we are surrounded by circles, eg, wheels etc etc.

I love stone.  This is part of an art installation at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate.

I was there at a quilt show and I found time to wander around outside, with no crowds
to get in the way!

3   Splat

My latest broach could be based upon a splat!  It is made by Jackie Cardy.
Click here to read more about her if you're on Facebook.

4   Square

Once again so many possible choices but here is my current favour square.
I saw this quilt on Facebook recently and just had to give it a go.  I'll make a smaller
version, suitable for a Project Linus quilt.  I need to cut 30 blue squares, each 5"
as well as 480 squares, each 2".

All the squares are here, ready for sewing together 'soon'.

5    Star

Hard to select one photo, again!

A recent purchase from a charity shop, before all the shops shut.

6   Own choice

Well, where to begin.  I thought I'd stay with the shape theme but there are so many shapes, everywhere.  I tired really hard to find one photo but in the end I chose 2....

Crochet hexagon motifs for my latest Janie Crow blanket.

Coiled up fern, slowly unfurling itself from its spiral shape.

Well, that's all for this month.  Can't wait to see what shapes you have all found.  Thanks Hawthorn!

Bye!
