5 March 2021 Photo Hunt - Spring or Autumn?

Well Hawthorn has made me think this week; seems we have several choices so I chose both.  Easier to do both words than select one.....

Signs of Spring

So many ideas floated around in my head but I went the simple ones.

Daffodils about to pop in our fields.

The ducks are back!  I think we have 3 visiting pairs
and of course there are duck fights if more than
one pair visits....  Fingers crossed they bring their ducklings
to visit us.

How cute is this one?

Signs of Autumn

Again there are so many but here are my favourites.

Lots of fungi.

Pity they are not edible, even if they were I'd not risk it!

Seeing my leaves all swept up and in their new container.
By now they have sunk half way down.

Well I'm off back to Hawthorn's post (click here) to see what you have chosen to do.

Bye!

    1. I like the colours in my leaf heap. I've another one elsewhere in the garden and I think it might be ready for use! I don't often see calves around here so it was good that we could stop while I took a photo. They don't stay cute for long.

  2. Lovely selection for both spring and autumn. I do love the curious calf watching you through the fence and your regular ducks too. But my favourite is in your autumn selection. It is the second picture of fungi. Makes you think how beautiful nature can be, even in a rather dull coloured patch of fungus. Each piece is very similar to jacaranda pods, so maybe that is what draws me to that picture. xx

    1. I did find out what the fungus was called but can't remember.... the other night a pair of ducks arrived just before we had our tea; they stared in so Beloved gave them some wheat. A few minutes later they were staring in again, cue more wheat. They did this 4 times! In the end Beloved drew the curtains so he could not be stared at! x

    1. The ducks have us well trained. Years ago one would arrive before I'd got up and it would quack and quack and quack. No chance of any more sleep so I just got up and fed it! But they are good to see in our garden.

  5. The calf is just beautiful ... nothing like spring lambs and calves to bring a smile 😃

    1. I've only seen a few lambs to-date; some must have been kept in a shed as they were big lambs, not little spring ones. So I've that joy to look forward to.

  6. Your pile of leaves took me back to when we had out allotment, we used to do exactly that with the leaves. Isn't it a boost when spring starts to show itself. I love it.

    1. Whilst I long for spring proper, when it arrives I want to stop the clock!

  8. I've never seen one of those leaf containers before - off to look on the interweb right now cos I have mine stored in black bags. This would be much prettier.
The calf is so cute :). And I"m really jealous that you have visiting ducks ...wow

    1. The leaf container is just a length of wire netting, made into a round, tied to stop it unrolling, then held in place in the ground with metal rods.

  9. Lovely photos, that calf is just adorable! I hope the ducks can behave themselves.

    1. Another vote for the calf. The ducks are good so far and have not taken to waking me up in the mornings!
